Mali's Garlic Soup
This recipe is from Mali; recorded March, 1999.
- 1 heaping Tbs. flour
- 1-2 T. butter
- 1 bouillon cube (large kind)
- a little pepper
- bay leaf
- 6-8 pressed cloves of garlic
- 1/4 cup cream (more if you like)
- croutons
Brown flour in butter. Add 3 cups water and bring to a boil then add the
bouillon cube and the pepper, the bay leaf and the garlic. Let come to
a boil again and cook a few minutes. Add the cream - do NOT boil.
Serve with croutons on top!
